Victoria began her amazing journey into the
realm of art and poetry at an early age. She
won her first greeting card competition at 15,
received the Bank of America Award for Fine
Art upon graduation at 18. She was the
recipient of many awards and scholarships
during high school and concentrated on Fine
Art and Design at six separate colleges. At the
Laguna Beach College of Art and Design, she
was mentored by Frank Dixon, Artemio
Sepulveda and Ray Jacob. She also learned
much of her background in Art History from
Dorie Dunlap, a protégé of Andy Warhol.
Victoria has won several significant awards,
one being a Juror’s Choice award from Tony
DeLap, noted artist and professor, for (“The
Great Flood”) a mixed media piece and a Juror’
s Choice from Peter Frank of the L..A. Weekly
for (“Violation of the Innocent”) a digital piece.
Experimenting over the years to find a unique
style, she has tried to push the boundaries
with personal symbolism reminiscent of some
of her poetry. At times it becomes almost
visual poetry and at others, there are
prophetic nuances that create a sense of
wonder and give a depth to her work.
Victoria has 2 certificates in 3D Studio Max
and has tried to bring a Fine Art element to
some of the wire frame images. She has used
animation and still imagery from this medium
to recreate some of her painting concepts.
Although, painting has always been her
primary focus, she now has jewelry, ceramics
and children’s books as a part of her portfolio.
She has also taken many of her deeper more
personal pieces and combined them with her
poetry, to form a book called “Darkness
Taunting”. She has assembled a prototype and
hopes to publish it soon.
Victoria lives in Show Low, AZ, where she
volunteers as co-director of the Center for
the Arts, as a member of the Arts Alliance of
the White Mountains. You can also visit her

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"I have used metaphor and symbol
for many years, in my work. While
studying world religions and
secret societies, I have found that
metaphor and symbolism is used
across the board, to mask the
spiritual reality and the truth. Men
have used their power positions,
through the ages, for control and
manipulation and women needed
to be subjugated. But, woman has
long been, the matriarch, the
goddess, the shaman and
priestess. We, as women, need to
have a stronger voice in the art
world. Our emotional lives cannot
be dismissed as insignificant. We
have a depth of feeling that needs
to be expressed. We are mothers,
wives, lovers and teachers, we are
defenders of goodness and
morality and we offer support like
no other. We are possessed of the
"wild woman" spirit who has keen
instincts and incredible passion.
We have integrity and strength to
persevere and we offer our
wisdom and experience, as our
testimony, without reservation. We
unabashedly display our tears, our
pain, and our joy for all to see. We
embody love and sacrifice and we
aspire to greatness."
